JUNE ENGAGEMENT

Honored to Sponsor a table at and participate in this great fundraiser for Eckerd Connects. The funds raised will contribute to youth programs in schools across the county including Endeavour Elementary A Community Partnership School right in the heart of Cocoa.

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to worship with and a few moments to speak to the good folks at Friendship Primitive Baptist Church. Thank you Pastor Rodney Osborne for the opportunity. I’ll hold onto your message from Daniel 1:8 about being a man of conviction with a determined purpose to defy the pressures of the enemy.

Had a great time at The Spacecoast League of Cities dinner tonight. Mayor Susan Ditty of Melbourne Village, Florida spoke of how 65% of her city’s revenue comes from property taxes and how basically that city will cease to function as a municipality without property taxes. Grateful for networking and information that I can use to benefit the City of Cocoa.

A body in motion stays in motion. I strive for fitness in the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual because taking care of me is the best way for me to ensure that I give my family, my clientele and my community the best that I can.

Enjoyed a cool 3 mile walk to Cocoa Village today. It was nice walking down Brevard Ave, waving at old neighbors and friends and just enjoying the breeze by the water.

Lots of places that we could have had lunch today, but of course I had to support these men of purpose as they fundraise to give back to this community.

I have the best team ever! After canvassing, we enjoyed fish and grits, spades, planted a few signs, and the kids threw around the football in the yard. Grateful is the only way to describe how I feel right now.

So grateful to be a part of another successful community event. I took on the role of volunteering with the youth, and enjoyed: catch football, a basketball shoot around, a sack race, four square, and pushing a couple kids on the swings. I also got to speak with some of the adults about some of their concerns in the community including, but not limited to: speeding, annexation, education, and homelessness. This is truly what democracy and community are all about.

Good meeting by the Cocoa CRA. The agency voted unanimously to approve moving the project at 430 Brevard Ave. forward to the final step. If the final step is approved, a 90 million dollar building that has an estimated financial impact of $35 million/year on the City of Cocoa, that will create ~1,000 jobs during its construction, and that will house 220-242 residents will be completed by ~2031.

First Father’s Day as husband and wife; and we grabbed our copy of the Ebony News Today at church.

Ran into a nice man on my walk around the neighborhood this morning to start my day. By the end of the ten minute conversation, he was asking me why he didn’t have my sign in his yard...

...Ten minutes later, he had one in his yard on moss lane that I planted myself. God is good.

Had a blast hosting the Juneteenth Family Reunion at the Riverfront Park in Cocoa. I found myself singing, dancing, mingling, mentoring, and helping wherever I could. I’m grateful for the day, now it’s time to rest…
